Auditions We hold auditions twice a year (at the beginning of each semester), and we accept members of all genders and voice parts. We're super excited to be holding auditions again this year! Stay tuned for information on our spring semester auditions! |
Open House Come to our open house! This is a great way to get to know us, check out our repertoire, hear us sing, have some refreshments, and learn more about what it means to be a KJ. Sept. 14, 2:30-5:30pm, Bloomberg 63!

What to Expect in an Audition:
Your audition will be about 10-15 minutes long, and we promise not to bite! Here are the pieces of the audition:
No experience is necessary to audition (we've accepted members with years of experience and others with none)! We also have no limit on the number of people we accept, and your voice part or class year are not major factors in our decision.
Your audition will be about 10-15 minutes long, and we promise not to bite! Here are the pieces of the audition:
- Scales and some easy warm-ups - our music director will lead you through these
- Pitch matching - our music director will play a few notes and you'll sing them back
- A brief group blending and dynamics exercise
- A solo song of your choice! This can be from any genre, from classical to pop to jazz to musical theater. Try to keep your piece to about 30-60 seconds - about the length of a verse and a chorus - and you will sing a capella (without accompaniment).
