Class of 2020
Harry Fosbinder-ElkinsVoice Part: Tenor Hometown: Brooklyn, NY Major: Physics Harry Fosbinder-Elkins took a particularly circuitous route from Brooklyn to Princeton, passing through Reno, NV along the way. He has equally meandering tastes in music, and enjoys being a part of as musically eclectic a group as the KJs. When Harry is not singing, he is likely hiding in the Forbes black box playing piano or writing on the walls. Most hours of the night, he might also be found in one of Princeton's many libraries, avoiding his problem sets by admiring the architecture. He is safe to approach in this semi-vegetative state, but be careful not to get him started on any of the following topics: physics, light pollution, music education, epileptic house flies, cats, or the right way to coil a rope. He has strong opinions and you may not soon escape. |
Millie GoldrupVoice Part: Soprano
Hometown: Arlington, VA / New Delhi, India Major: Architecture Millie grew up in a cultural hodgepodge - the US, Jordan, South Africa, China, England, and India. She recently returned from 18 months in Taiwan, where she was a missionary for the LDS church. As a result, she loves Asian fashion, speaking/singing in Chinese, and spreading happiness. By day she library hops around campus, and by night she slaves away in the architecture studio, stealing away to Murray-Dodge for cookie stamina. She moonlights in chasing after quintessential Ivy league traditions, going from the Glee Club to Crew and now a cappella. |
Alex LaurenziVoice Part: Bass
Hometown: Mountain Lakes, NJ Major: History Alex comes from a musical family that doesn’t really know anything about Princeton. He has always wanted to be in an a cappella group, and he could not have found a better group for him than the KJs. He is passionate about jazz, having played alto saxophone for 10 years, but has never had the chance to sing similar repertoire until now. Alex plays in the jazz ensembles on campus in the new-look program and hopes to develop his arranging skills to give the KJs some new fun songs to sing. You can probably find him in the Rocky Common Room or any of the beautiful libraries up campus, chatting with friends instead of doing his readings. He is hilariously short, but that seems to be a trend in the KJs, because he is still taller than Elana, Divya, and Harry… Well, sort of. |
Class of 2021
Grace CollinsVoice Part: Alto
Hometown: Princeton, NJ Major: Politics |
Amital HaasVoice Part: Soprano
Hometown: Cleveland, OH Major: Anthropology Amital inherited a love of dark chocolate from her father, and a love of music from her mother. When she’s not singing, you can find her biking, thrift shopping, trying to do her geosciences homework, or hanging out at the Center for Jewish Life. Amital loves traveling the world and has recently spent time in Israel, Uganda, and Rwanda. She’s excited for her adventures to continue with the KJs! |
Phoebe ParkVoice Part: Soprano
Hometown: Willow Grove, PA Major: Civil and Environmental Engineering Phoebe is one who strives to live an eccentrically normal life. Born and raised in a small suburban town, she aspires to travel the world and seek new adventures. Despite her lactose intolerance, her goal for this academic year is to eat every flavor of Ben and Jerry's ice cream she can find. When she is not blasting music walking through campus, she is most likely looking out into the water at the boathouse. |
Emma PophamVoice Part: Bass
Hometown: Greenwich, CT Major: Chemistry Emma is a bass hailing from the best residential college on campus, Mathey. She's been interested in acapella music since middle school, when she performed in a Renaissance Faire-themed acapella concert (which was exactly as nerdy as it sounds). Outside of acapella music, Emma can often be found at the rock-climbing wall, working at the Forbes Garden Project, or swinging a hammer with the Princeton Blacksmithing Club. She is *definitely* enjoying four years of non-stop problem sets. She is incredibly excited to be a part of the KJ family! |
Theo TrevisanVoice Part: Bass
Hometown: Princeton, NJ Major: Music Hailing from exotic Princeton, Theo Trevisan is very excited to be part of an ensemble where he's close to average height. Theo has been singing in choirs for 9 years and is also a part of Glee Club and Chamber Choir. In addition to singing, Theo has been composing for many years, and his compositional influences include the Renaissance, Postmodernism, algorithms, fidget spinners, and household appliances. When he's not wasting his life with music, Theo enjoys speculating on the meme economy, playing Super Smash Bros, eating waffles (they're the only reason he wakes up before 10:30), and drinking green tea. |
Anna YangVoice Part: Alto
Hometown: Vancouver, Canada Major: English Anna is an alto from Vancouver, BC! She’s really excited to be in the KJs because of their fantastic gear. Anna's skills and talents include editing photos, online thrifting, and multitasking. When not singing or sleeping, she frequents Island Spa and Sauna in Edison, New Jersey, she bullies Theo, and aspires to spend as little time as possible in the rest of New Jersey. |
Class of 2022
Mary Elizabeth Adler
Voice Part: Soprano
Hometown: Seattle, WA Major: Chemical and Biological Engineering Mary Elizabeth Adler is a CBE sophomore from Seattle, Washington who doesn't appreciate the East Coast humidity. When not in rehearsal, she can be found wearing KJ gear, thinking about Chipotle, and working on psets that might be hopeless. If you see her on campus, tell her that she needs to stop cutting her hair because she has a problem. |
Violet Gautreau
Voice Part: Soprano
Hometown: Chappaqua, NY Major: English Violet is a sophomore hailing from the distant land of Westchester, New York. As a self-defined musical theatre geek, the KJs’ jazzy repertoire is oftentimes a welcome respite from endless Broadway scores. When she’s not singing with the KJs, she can be found sprinting to the theatre for a rehearsal that she’s late for, adding copious amounts of honey to her tea, and annoying freshmen while running events with Mathey College Council. |
Debby Park
Voice part: Alto
Hometown: Philadelphia, PA Major: Molecular Biology Debby is an alto who loves music in all genres and forms. She likes to balance out the jazzy KJ rep with playing classical music in PUO as a bassist (yes, it is a foot taller than her) and curating R&B/EDM playlists on Spotify. Outside of music, she is a passionate about Lunchables, Golden Retrievers, and learning about cells.. |
Giscelle Rosario
Voice Part: Alto
Hometown: Mililani, HI Major: Music Giscelle Rosario is an alto in Butler college from Mililani, Hawaii and is only slightly regretting coming to college on the east coast. Being able to make music with an amazing group like the KJs truly makes up for the gloomy east coast weather. If Giscelle isn’t in class she is most likely in rehearsal for one performing arts group or another and loves being busy though does need a reminder every once in a while to take things easy. She hopes to major in music with a certificate in music theater. |
Tara Shawa
Voice Part: Alto
Hometown: Princeton, NJ Major: Computer Science Tara is a sophomore studying computer science, originally from the faraway town of Princeton. In addition to singing low notes for the KJs, she sings medium notes for the glee club and high notes around her friends who beg her to stop. When she isn’t singing, she enjoys pulling all-nighters, making way too many Vine references, and telling people that Forbes is the best residential college. Some of her other interests include coming up with new awkward dance moves and fighting people who think vanilla is better than chocolate. She is very grateful to be part of such a talented group and always looks forward to making music with her favorite people! |
Bryant So
Voice Part: Bass
Hometown: Colorado Springs, CO Major: Music Bryant is a bass from Colorado Springs, CO. He aims to major in music while pursuing a premed track (he doesn’t know what he’s getting into). Besides singing, Bryant plays the violin – which is gathering dust somewhere beneath his bed – and also plays tennis pretty poorly. Bryant is incredibly excited to be joining the Katzenjammers as this is the first singing experience he’s ever had (besides singing in the shower)! If Bryant isn’t in his room, he can most likely be found eating…somewhere. |
Class of 2023
Halle Mitchell
Voice Part: Alto
Hometown: Bellefonte, Pennsylvania Major: Undecided Halle is a freshman from central Pennsylvania with very little clue of what she wants to do with her life! She really enjoys singing, playing the piano, composing, and acting, and is a member of the Glee Club and Princeton University Players outside of the KJs. She is also a big consumer of food and yes, she will most likely eat what you don’t finish. She is so truly happy to be a part of such a fun, kind, and talented group and can’t wait to make beautiful music. Sahil SunejaVoice Part: Tenor
Hometown: Novi, Michigan Major: Operations Research and Financial Engineering Born in Boston but raised in Michigan, Sahil is a baritone-turned-tenor planning on majoring in ORFE. Stemming from his success in cubing (He can solve a 3x3 in a 4/4 quarter note at 4 bpm!), Sahil has an interest in group theory, which also has its applications in music. His musical background is in classical music, and his favorite aria is “Deh vieni alla finestra…”. His secret ambition is to perform at least one successful serenade with this aria during his four years at Princeton. Other than singing, another vocal talent that Sahil cherishes is his Indian accent, which he uses to great comedic effect. When he’s not indulging in his accents or songs, Sahil plays online poker (without money), loses miserably in online chess games, and frequents Reddit, where one of his comments has exceeded 9000 upvotes. |
Jude Muriithi
Voice Part: Tenor
Hometown: Novato, CA Major: Computer Science Jude is a fresh man (and a freshman) in Wilson College who plans on studying computer science with a certificate in music performance. A self-described vocal jazzer and lifelong Northern Californian, he is fortunately only somewhat anxious about joining the East Coast a cappella tradition, and he is very grateful for the KJ's diverse repertoire. When not singing, he can be found searching for extremely dissonant music to listen to, fighting off crazed problem sets with a sharpened graphite stick, or losing a game of 8-ball pool in Wucox. |
Katelyn Rodrigues
Voice Part: Soprano
Hometown: Austin, TX Major: Computer Science Katelyn's escape from the hustle and bustle of life has always been music. An avid singer and classical violinist, Katelyn enjoys performing operatic music and playing chamber music during the holiday season as well as in service to her community. When not procrastinating her school work, Katelyn enjoys running outside, challenging her friends to ping-pong tournaments, going on Chick-Fila-A runs, and drinking boba. In fact, she can almost always be found with a packet of fruit gummies; after sampling a wide variety, Katelyn believes that Motts is arguably the best. She is overjoyed to be a part of the KJs and can't wait to bless the #1 campus with incredible music! |
